Alimentam-me a alma. Image Credits: Fringe Association My Internet surf around wool, patterns, artisans and their stories and accomplishments, is endless, as all these trips often are. I have found wonderful people. There are, however, some more special than others. Perhaps the feeling of deep and soothing tune that seems to happen between me and them. There are blogs where everything seems perfect: design, writing, photography, colors, textures. They are an addiction. They feed my soul. Materialize a dream made of snow-covered fields, sheep in huts made of stone and wood, women sitting spinning or knitting near a fireplace and, wicker baskets full of wool skeins. T H E C R A F T S E S S I O N S THE CRAFT SESSIONS is a blog where you can find a bit of everything - knit, sewing, weaving - but it is the intimist writing of its author, Felicia Semple, what makes it special to me. Among the recent posts this is one of my favorites. And I love this idea.
One day, perhaps, I will have the chance of joining their annual retreat "of creative workshops, delicious food, quiet moments and inspiring people. It is an opportunity to play and learn, to talk, and share ideas. It’s about coming together and sharing a love of making, appreciating the beauty in the smaller things, and delighting in the pleasure and simplicity of all things handmade.", says the author. The next one is in September 2015. W O O F U L I do not know where to start. Ashley, author of WOOLFUL, literally transports me to a world from where I do not want to leave, ever. A written that cuddles, makes you dream, and beautiful images that testify her quest for 100% organic yarns, sustainably produced and that she herself dyes naturally. But what is even more addictive are the podcast - talks for fiber folks - I hear it over and over again. Make sure you don´t miss her at Instagram. F I N G R E AS S O C I A T I O N I love the work of Karen Templer and I have a huge admiration for the generosity with which she shares so much information in her Fringe Association. Each project is a valuable testimony that teaches everyone who wants to learn. There are not enough words to describe all of her craft talent that can only be an inspiration for every knitter and maker.
